Position: Brewing Manager

Reports to: Production Manager

In addition to all of the responsibilities of a brewer, the Brewing Manager is also responsible for day-to-day operations of the entire brewing team.   This includes reading the production schedule and laying out a daily plan; assigning duties to the brewing team to safely and effectively completing the day's production; taking ownership of the production paperwork from the brewing team, and ensuring it is completed fully, correctly, and neatly; training of new hires; ensuring that all operations are completed according to Rowdy Mermaid's SOP’s; ensuring that all brewing employees are adhering to all of Rowdy Mermaid GMP’s.  They will also work closely with the production manager to participate in all personal issues on the brewing team including hiring/ firing and reviews as well as help with inventory management..

Duties include:

  • Daily brewing operations
  • Participation in writing the production schedule
  • Daily management of brewery resources 
  • Knowing all brewing SOPs and GMP’s and ensuring follow through by brewing staff
  • Ensuring all brewing production paperwork is completed with 100% accuracy 
  • Dealing with day-to-day brewing staff management
  • Filling in anywhere in brewing where help is needed
  • Training of new employees according to brewing SOPs
  • Participate in the hiring and management of all new brewing staff
  • Working with the facilities department to help schedule all preventative maintenance
